Beach, hills, the market and a day in València.
Day 1 · Landing
Beach in the morning, close to the house, no plan. In the afternoon, a walk along the promenade in el Grau to get your bearings: the port, the market, where the supermarket is and what time the sun goes down.
Day 2 · The Ducal Palace
Into Gandía town, ten minutes by car or bus. The Palau Ducal dels Borja takes a little over an hour to visit and is worth it: it was the home of the family that ended up in Rome giving the Church two popes.
Afterwards, the Collegiate church and the pedestrian streets of the centre. A good day to eat inland rather than by the sea.
Day 3 · A long beach day
The day for doing nothing. If you have already been to Gandía, try Daimús or Miramar; if you want dunes, L’Ahuir.
Day 4 · The marshland
The Safor wetland, with flat paths and birdlife. Do it by bike or on foot, and go early or at dusk, when the heat drops and the wildlife comes out.
Day 5 · València
An hour by car, or the local train from Gandía station, which goes direct. City of Arts and Sciences, the Central Market, the Carmen quarter, and back to sleep by the beach.
Day 6 · Market and hills
The market in the morning. In the afternoon, a short walk in the hills or a trip out to the Vall de Gallinera if it is spring.
Day 7 · Last morning
An early swim, rice at lunchtime and home. Check-out at our houses is flexible when occupancy allows: ask us the day before.
