Where dogs can go, where they cannot, and what to do in August.
No surcharge at our houses
In the houses that say so on their page, the dog comes at no extra cost. It is not a promotion: it is how we do things. We only ask that you tell us when booking.
Dog beaches
Beach rules change every season and each town sets its own, so the first thing is to check them for the year you are coming. As a general rule, in high season dogs cannot be on the town beaches during the day, and can outside bathing hours.
Several towns in the area set aside a specific stretch for dogs in summer. Ask us when you arrive and we will tell you which one is running that season and how to get there.
Where to walk without trouble
- The Safor marshland, with the dog on the lead: shade, water and flat ground.
- The seafront promenade first and last thing.
- The orchard tracks between Gandía and el Grau, quiet and traffic-free.
- The less built-up beaches outside high season, where they can run freely.
Terraces and transport
Most terraces along the promenade accept a calm dog; inside depends on the place. The local train to València takes dogs under Renfe rules.
The heat is the real problem
In July and August the sand burns and so does the tarmac. Walks before nine and after eight, always with water on you.
Know where the nearest emergency vet is before you need it: we tell you at check-in along with the rest of the information about the house.
